Lurid and Insane, Comfort Hour, Marginal Notes & Come Together: Scripts & Texts

£6.00

This volume contains texts for four contrasting performances, each inspired by performance in politics.

Lurid and Insane finds a newly elected president, as lead singer of a loyal band, performing for faithful party members. During the gig his ego grows and his mask slips.

Comfort Hour is played every night on People’s Radio Freedom. Listened to with credulity it sounds reassuring but as soon as you doubt, it starts to feel like hypnotism.

Marginal Notes is a poisonous monologue agitating people to boycott Stan’s Cafe.

Come Together is a theatrical response to Primal Scream’s album track of the same name. Samples from a speech by the Reverend Jesse Jackson are performed live, with their politics reintroduced.
