The Honey Man by Tyron Huggins

Honey Man, an ageing Caribbean recluse, is trying to save his dying bees in a derelict cottage in rural England when fiery teenage heiress Misty chargesinto his world. Initially the two clash in a funny and painful war of words. But an unlikely friendship develops and a painting reveals a secret that connects their lives in ways they could never have imagined as they confront climate change and colonial history.

The Honey Man was first presented by New Perspectives and Derby Live at Guildhall Theatre in 2012. In 2015 it was revived in a production by Judy Owen Ltd. with Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
