Possibly the most extraordinary primary school play ever staged. Sixty students aged ten and eleven dramatise the Cuban Missile Crisis in a playful, witty and historically detailed retelling of events that took the world to the edge of nuclear disaster in 1962.
Written in collaboration with students from Billesley Primary School by Stan’s Cafe, this play frames the face-off between Presidents Kennedy and Khrushchev as a playground spat, without losing sight of the details of original events.
Here the original script is published with production photographs, credits and a ‘making of’ essay.
