Two actors and a chess clock – one has 26 minutes to tell the story of world events over the last 26 years, the other has the same time to tell the equivalent story about a group of friends and their theatre company. Action bounces wittily between global politics and personal landmarks. Fragments of old Stan’s Cafe shows and encounters are embedded within the script alongside reenactments of famous and not so famous moments in world affairs.
Time Critical is a whirl through the tumultuous years 1991 – 2017. It is about how our lives are lived in relation to the world around us and how these
different scales intersect. It is about making art in the midst of politics. It is about editing the news, editing history and editing our lives.
