Weirdly we’ve just spotted that The Belgrade Theatre in Coventry today opened its show Cheeky Chappies’ Christmas Cracker, which sounds, on the surface at least, very similar to our ancient show Perry Como’s Christmas Cracker. Of course the protagonists in ours were trying to perform a pantomime nativity and it doesn’t sound like the Cheeky Chappies are. Which is a good job as that would indeed be a cheeky thing to do.
