Tomorrow the fifth edition of the Moseley Folk Festival kicks off. There are few more relaxing places to be when the sun shines and it’s still fun in the rain, so we’re planning on being there on Saturday until as late as we dare. I when out of loyalty and curiosity the first year – then it was the delicious beer and all round good company. Now I think I may even be going for the music!
On Wednesday ‘our very own’ Graeme Rose lines up as part of the awe-inspiring Modified Toy Orchestra. Again, we’ll be there. Come too. It will blow your mind and your eardrums.
Finally, one to re-appraise. If you were one of those who looked around The Public shortly after its much anticipated, delayed and derided opening but have yet to return, now may be the time. I was there on Tuesday. It’s got a tasty piece of Bill Viola, more of the interactive stuff is working, there are some great animations around the place and a piece dear to my heart for obvious reasons, by Steven Chamberlain which you operate and edit yourself on a stationary bicycle using pedals, bell, breaks Etc. Give it another go, it’s feels very close if you go on the Metro.
