Day 1 of 5 leading a devising workshop for Magnetic North has been good fun. Theatre makers from across Canada have come to Calgary for the workshop and subsequent festival. We’ve tried out some games, some of the methods that led to Simple Maths and then, in the afternoon, moved on to a new idea which already feel as if it has the potential to be a show, which is good news as we’ve committed to showing some material on Sunday.

Meanwhile, back in the UK the Just Price of Flowers team had choir practice and Christina – sole surviving member of the Mystery Steps team – fielded media visits to the show prior to its opening on Saturday.
