Of All The People In All The World: Basel

Theaterfestival Basel
30 August – 5 September 2016

Eight tonnes of rice made this a substantial version of the show and the setting of a beautiful gymnaisum provided a lovely setting, it’s smooth cushioned floor marked out in lines for various sports made this a fun place to set up the show and during the daytime sunlight flooded in highlighting different elements of the show.

The festival had arranged a busy workshop program which meant lots of young people got to experience the show and play with its ideas.

The show had over a thousand visitors and the context of Basel and Switzerland proved a rich set of themes to explore.

Highlights: The festival atmosphere, a great opening, swimming in the Rhein and the beautiful location

Lowlights: Sitting eating outside opposite the venue after a long hard get in day and seeing four fire engines pull lights flashing and sirens wailing. To our relief a single firefighter with a fire extinguisher seemed to be able to sort out a small problem in the boxing gym downstairs with no damage done.
