Annie Lloyd had seen the show in Birmingham Cathedral and wanted the Studio Theatre to present it in Leeds. Although we had wanted to include Leeds as part of a UK tour in the autumn, a citywide festival, Art In The Public Realm, meant the spring dates were too good to resist.
With the World Version in Stuttgart looming this performance was a chance to introduce two new performers to the show and for Karen Stafford, our newly appointed Production Manager, to see the show in action.
Although the foyer space outside the University Library was very small, this restriction was a good discipline and more than offset by the show’s great visibility and high audience numbers. With people passing by each day we were also encouraged to make regular changes to the layout and to respond to audience suggestions.
