Of All The People In All The World: Nottingham

Now Festival, Nottingham
17 – 20 October, 2005

An art gallery on the top floor of a book shop sounds like a great space for this show. It prompts thought that the show may have sprung from an unwritten short story by Jorge Luis Borges. In reality this proved to be a difficult and disappointing show. The Festival marketing wasn’t up to luring people in to this out of the way space. We hadn’t had the time to develop a rapport with the Waterstone’s staff that would have led to a collaboration with the shop acting as a resource and extension of the show.

Having performed and worked a lot in Nottingham over the years this was especially disappointing.

Highlight of this gig was access to shelves and shelves of reference books and Jake finding the breakdown of the vast array of nationalities of the crew of H.M.S. Victory.
