Of All The People In All The World: Save The World

Theater Bonn: Save The World II
Halle Beuel, Bonn Germany
18 – 20 September 2015

Bonn

This presentation was strongly themed around climate change and environmental concerns, in order reflect the concerns of Theater Bonn’s Save the World II weekend. The weekend was hosted by the technical workshops of Theater Bonn, where they make all the set, props and costumes for the theatre, ballet and opera companies in the city. Of All The People In All The World was installed in the main carpentry workshop, which was one of the most unusual and beautiful settings for the show. The workshop’s block wooden floor allowed the white paper to stand out and complimented the colour of the rice standing on it. The great array of working surfaces led one audience member to comment how much they enjoyed the ‘egg hunt’ of looking for statistics concealed amongst the abandoned materials of the carpenter’s trade. A extra advantages for the audience were the very large work surfaces provided by the workshop – no more back strain when reading the labels!
In tandem with this presentation Save the World commissioned James to make a fifteen minute long piece in collaboration with climate change experts, the result was Small People with Big Feet.
