Of All The People In All The World: UK

Greenbelt Festival, Cheltenham
28 – 31 August, 2009

Cheltenham

Another tented version of the show, this time on Cheltenham Racecourse at the Greenbelt Festival which has been held annually since 1974. The festival is a mix of music, performance, visual art, comedy, workshops and discussions with a Christian focus. We were here supported by Christian Aid and so focussed the show on some of the issues that the charity is interested in, such as poverty, health and injustice. The festival has 20,000 visitors and so, with a cafe as part of the same tent, the team were kept busy with a constant flow of visitors.

The festival’s Operations Manager at the time was Karen Stafford who was, for a number of years Stan’s production manager and worked on many Of All The People shows during her time with us. Her excellent photographs also appear on many of the show’s history pages.

What a brilliant way to express the magnitude of some of the world’s problems. Our children aged 3 and 5 were really interested – much food for thought.

WOW! The best demo I’ve seen of creativity cutting through the ‘noise’ of day to day info we receive. Amazing!
